Matteo Domenicucci obtained a Master Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Genova (Italy) in 2010, with a period of study spent at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow (UK).

He spent the subsequent years between Italy, Scotland, The Netherlands and Monaco, working as Technical Superintendent with major shipowners and management companies for various fleets, in particular ropax vessels, offshore units, product/chemical tankers, bulk carriers, research vessels and luxury cruise ships. In the course of these years, in addition to the ship management activity, he was in charge of various projects, including major refits, takeover of newbuilding, and conversion and repurpose of offshore and research units.

In 2017, Matteo set up his own company, offering a wide range of services for all types of ships and yachts, including marine surveys (condition surveys, pre-purchase inspections, on-hire/off-hire, H&M and P&I damage survey, among others), project management for dry-docks, conversions and refit activities, and consultancy on technical management. Matteo is a Corporate Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (MRINA), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Engineering Council (UK) and a registered European Engineer (Eur Ing) with the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (now Engineers Europe). His deep expertise and strategic vision in the marine survey industry have led him to take on the role of EMEA Hub Managing Director and Marine Surveyor at Rely.
