Giuseppe Averame receives a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Genoa. He earns his professional degree in 2001 and then spends time training at V.Ships in Glasgow.
In the 2000s, he develops the activity of surveyor within the companies Det Norske Veritas (DNV) within the headquarter of Venice and Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) within the headquarter of Genoa. During this period he goes abroad within the headquarters of Lisbon and Rotterdam, acquiring the necessary skills within the naval field which were reinforced by a great propensity in interpersonal relationships developed during numerous site inspections carried out all over the world.

Starting from 2008, he is part of Studio Tecnico Averame, the family company born in 1947 and working within the shipping business since three generations. After having grown significant experience in handling claims working on behalf of numerous Italian and foreign maritime insurance companies, Giuseppe joins the force with Lorenzo and founds his own company in 2020. By teaming up, he addresses the need for growth at a faster pace to deal with the new challenges that the insurance sector is facing, without affecting, but improving the quality of the surveys, inspections and technical consultancy works that has constituted the basis of his relationships.

During his career, Giuseppe receives the professional qualifications as Surveyors and Experts of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce, Technical Staff of Naval Construction of the Maritime Department of Genoa, Expert Witness of the Court and Expert in Marine Casualty Investigation of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. He is member of the Association of Experts in Maritime Casualties (AIPAM) for which served on the Board of Director for 2 terms.
